Re: 97 grand prix - problems!!!

alright the trany modulator was causing the hard shifts i replaced it hard shifts gone, when i pressed the tip twa rush of trany fluid... lol

still haven't figured out the fog lamps but haven't had time to mess with it

purge valve was being tripped due to the rubber 3 way connector being ripped in more pices than could be possibly described... i replaced the rubber connector and voila!

reset service engine light and it hasn't come on yet (2 days) hopefully it doesn't

car seems to be in tip top shape except for the few electrical problems

fog lights
hvac blower setting control
reverse lights

anyway problems are fixed thanks alot bnaylor

Re: 97 grand prix - problems!!!

where do i get an ignition harness from? The purge valve was sticking because of the vacuum line was disconnected... now its all good, the trany was shifting hard due to the modulator being bad changed out now its good... service engine light went off and hasnt come on since

now i just got the fog lights the reverse lights the fan settings for the a/c blower and thats about it

now the low coolant light comes on and goes off... does anybody know how i may be able to fix it? maybe the sensors loose im going to check asap

Re: 97 grand prix - problems!!!

now we got another problem, the intake manifold gasket it leaking oil on the tranny and the valve cover gaskets are leaking, no only that the little metal piece above the water pump is cracked and leaks terribly... i was wondering if they have a copper gasket for the intake manifold??? I'm going to do a quick search but perhaps some one may know

Re: 97 grand prix - problems!!!

Is the leak at the upper or lower intake manifold? Checkout this link below for the new LIM gaskets.

For the coolant leak, are you referring to the heat exchanger tensioner or the black plastic elbow between the tensioner and lower intake manifold?

Re: 97 grand prix - problems!!!

you wouldn't happen to have a pic handy would you? also you to take it off i'd have to take out the alt and the tensioner correct?? How come the haynes manual says nothing about this?
