AFAIK theres no way to 'remove' the governor on a focus w/o a chip.

Well then he did something. I'ill go get a picture of it doing 125 later to prove it. I'ill even take a picture of the engine in its stock form too.

which motor?

2.0L SPI or 2.0L Zetec

and if he did he probably installed a chip, theres no wirehack (that i know of) for the focus. If he installed a chip the motor would still look stock

Zetec. Damn forgot about that. I wish there was a way to prove it. Because the car accelerates the same and gets the same mileage. Well I don't know how it did that but now it won't even go past 115 now. Its wierd. Maybe the speedo is messed up but it sayed 125

Re: So I had a street race with a lightly modded Civic

I remember alot of ricers in houston a few years back, i used to make fun of them quite bit, but their abundance has dropped, if not incredibly, in the recent years with the rise of better or improved import/domestic(4-cylinder of course) cars.

2. The Leader chooses the course.

Just because you are in the lead does not mean you can end the race on a whim. Are you quitting when you put your turn signal on?

It seems to me your blinking light is saying that if you want to keep this contest happening you will have to get off here. If the pursuer does not follow you where you are leading, then clearly he has given up a loser. Making you the Winner. Maybe you are saying this is where you want the contest to end. Doesn’t the contender have something to say about it?

Why can’t the pursuer get off the same ramp, pass & loose you, and think that they won?

You are the true Winner because you “finished in front,” not because you got in front and called off the race. If the pursuer had followed you the race still would have been on.

What you need to check your speed is a measured mile and a good working chronograph. Speedo’s lag.
