Re: And it begins!

Porting E-heads must be done by someone familiar with them. Under no circumstances allow a novice to "port" them. $250 per head indicates a "sportsman" job. He should be able to get them over 300 on the intake side, and 240 on the exhaust for that money.

Upgrading the exhaust valve to at least 1.75" will help extract the most from them.

I would recommend you send them to a Pontiac shop to keep from wasting your money. Our average "port job" costs $600. Depending on what part of the country you live in, that $500 could be a good deal or just a "touch up".

Jim Butler Performance (Leona, TN) is aknowledged as among the better porters for E-heads. Kauffman Racing Equipment (Glenmont, OH) is another good one. If you're on the West Coast, SD Performance in Vancouver, BC is the place. If you're anywhere near DC or Charlotte, CVMS (us) is the place.

Re: And it begins!

welp guys its been awhile since i have said anything about bandit...and how it was comming along sorry had some troubles...well a lot has changed since...here is what we got now tell me what you think....(ohh and if theres anyone who could give me a estimate in hp i will now have i would much apreciate it)

Old engine 1968 400ci

Work done to old engine ...

bored .30 over
New Cam : Comp Cams XE284H-10
New Pistons: Speed Pro Power Forged Pistons (aluminum forged)
New Crank: Eagle 455 (Modified for my 400ci)

so im not going to get to build the powerhouse i wanted but i still have a pretty nice engine.

*REASON* City is all over me about having a non running car in my driveway so i got to get the beast back together asap...

anywho on a little nicer note...can someone help me out with building my heads...im not sure whats good and whats not..

I'll get some pictures by tuesday my parts should arrive by then, if you have a ny free time go to summit racing and here are the part numbers of the cam kit and pistons ordered from them (i ordered the rest of the parts from another place) and you can get the specs and let me know if there good or not..

CCA-K12-250-3 - Cam Kit
TRW-L2262F30 - Pistons

Re: And it begins!

ohh.. im not sure if thats even what its called, its basically a soft vinyl cover that goes over the hood/front fender so when you work ON the car, you dont put any scratches on the fenders.. (when you rest things/ put your arm..etc on the fender) something like
