Hey everyone I'm trying to remove then replace the EGR solenoid valve, it has a male to femele plastic connector and I can't seem to find where it needs to be depressed. The solenoid valve is located on the back side of the engine near the fire wall and is hard to get at. I have so far been able to remove the screw that holds it to a mounting bracket. Now all that holds it to the engine is the three short hoses that are attacthed to the selonoid valve and the connector I have mentioned. If anyone out there knows of a way to remove this please chime in. Your assistance would be Greatly Appreciated!!!!!!!!!

I'm not talking about the EGR or the BPT valve. I'm referring to the EGR solenoid valve. I'm very familiar with SE-R.net and it's many articles. None that I know of refer to the EGR solenoid valve. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I managed to replace mine. 1st you need some light so you can see what you are doing. 2nd remove the 3 rubber hoses and bracket screw.
This will allow for you to handle the valve. The vavle is held to a wired connector or harness, What you need to do is find or use a tool with a very sharp point ie, small ice pic. This is because there is a very thin metal clip that is attached to the base of the female connector that holds the solenoid valve in place. Pry the clip which is square in size with pointed tool mentioned then depress the little tabs that protrude on each side of the female connector. It should release, also replace the black hoses just to be on the safe side. reconnect the valve to the mounting bracket attached the hoses and your done. the part number is #14956-58C10 There are two solenoid valves that were made for the SR20DE engine. the part number mentioned is for your car make and year model this is the other part #14956-38U10 produced for cars made after July 95. You can get the part from www.nissanparts.cc $58.00 or try Scottsdale Infiniti, Ask for Ralph or Joe. :flash:

I took a picture of the EGR valve before but didn't came out clear. It was in the freakin hard to reach spot behind the engine. There are so much shitski to remove before you get to it. You can see the BPT clearly but the EGR is hiding and very shy
I hope someone else with a great camera will provide us with the clear picture of that freakin' EGR valve. Good Luck!!! :toothless
