I had my 1995 3.1 liter scanned and the code came up as the EGR valve. I replaced the rather expensive item and erased the code only to have the Check Engine Light come back on. I have since returned and re-replaced the EGR Valve making sure to have cleaned the area thoroughly. The Check Engine Light is still coming on and the car runs okay with some slight rpm fluctuatins when standing. My temp guage has already gone nutz but the sensors and the engine is cooling correctly. I am not sure if this is a minor electrical issue or perhaps and bad computer or something along those lines.
Any ideas??? thanx |

Re: 1995 Grand Prix Check Engine Light EGR Solenoid Valve
Are you still getting a CEL for the EGR or is it another code. If it is the EGR you might want to pull the phlenum and totally clean the passageway from the egr to the manifold. These get carboned up and won't allow proper flow.
