Re: Gear Oil (?) or tranny fluid?

Take off the tire and the plastic piece that protects the tranny from the road grime, the plug should be right in front of your face.

Re: Gear Oil (?) or tranny fluid?

I believe it is down on the side of the tranny, approximately by the yellow arrow. I'm going off of memory here so I'm not 100% sure.

Re: Gear Oil (?) or tranny fluid?

Either BG Synchroshift or Pennzoil Synchromesh, either will work just fine.

And we're here to help each other, we don't need to forgive you for wanting to learn

Re: Gear Oil (?) or tranny fluid?

I would stay away from BG syncroshift, Shep racing doesn't recommend running it. He recommends Penzoil Syncromesh. So if you don't have anything against Penzoil I would run that, there isn't anyone that knows more about DSM trannies than Shep. I personally don't trust Penzoil products(Bad personal experiences) so i run Amsoil products.

But isn't that "geared" lol more toward trannies that see the abuse of racing rather than mostly street cars?

I completely agree, we all knew nothing at one point or another.

Why would that effect whether BG is a bad product or not? If a product is good enough to race with then it should be good enough for the daily commute.

I didn't think it was necessarily a bad product, just that the conditions of race trannies (extremely hot, etc) made it react differently.
