Yeah..same with a lighter flywheel, itll rev up much faster...but it will also spin down faster, and if the engine bogs..the weight cant keep it spinning nearly as well.

yeah i hear you on the flywheel, the only thing is it is hard to come by a flywheel for an 88'(different spline count) and lighter flywheel are expensive, still looking for a cheap light flywheel. if anyone knows where i can get one; hala back at me.

the only diff with an 88 is the clutch. the flywheel does not matter for the spline count. the size matters though, which 88-89 has 200mm clutchs and 90-91 had 220mm. so if you find a lightweight flywheel for an 89 clutch your current clutch will bolt onto it. you also could get one of the newer ones 90-2001 and then get a clutch from a company like ACT which makes a 220mm clutch for the 88 spline count of 21.
