I've used a few different gasolines in my car, and Texaco 92-Octane seems to run the best in BOTH my civic's I've had.

BTW>> Wheel size will throw off your speedometer incrimentally, by a certain percentage, which won't be much... unless you are runnin 14" wheels with 40-series tires... Wheel weight will damage your car's acceleration and HP-jump between gears.

You're fine with your 17's if you're runnin 140-series tires... because that's what I got my DX hatch up to, 115mph with 17" rims and an Intake...

BTW>> Maybe you're not shifting at a high enough RPM?!? The higher you can rev, when you shift, you'll be in a better powerband. Good luck with your speed quest... if I were you, I'd just get an Si :licker:

By the way, i use SHELL V-POWER 98Oct, it's the best gasoline that sells in here Guatemala City. Ehat gasoline did you recomend?

Thanks
Ok then cool.
I wish I could help more, Im just kinda throwing out ideas though. As for gas, just use the octane your manual suggests (mine says regular is fine, so until I get a turbo or something, no need for higher octane.) What kind of wheels do you have, and how much do they weigh specifically? Maybe that is where we should look. Other than that, I would say get a tune up, that could do some good as well especially if its been a while.

JayFidizzy: thanks for clearing that up. After I suggested that, I realized it will not make that much of a difference, and in fact the speedometer would read a bit HIGHER speed then what you are actually running. Like you said though, the difference is not even 1 or 2 mph.

my 95 ex cuts out at 95. I have I/H/E. I believe if you get a new computer you could squeeze an additional 10-15 mph out of her.

I Think the manual recommeds 87 octane.....but I used to go premium, until I caught a bad batch of gas and my cylinders began misfiring.....strangest thing....the car was shuddering like a leaf. So i switched back to 87 and I haven't had a problem since.

Shocky I also just though of something....since you live in guatemala...whats the average temperature around there??? And were u racing with the a/c or with the windows open?

87oct it's too low for me? i will use 95 oct, it's the premium gas in here and the most common. The people that user REGULAR (87oct) in guatemala it's only for carburators cars not for injected cars.

The avarenge temperature in here in Guatemala City it's about 16 to 22Cent. And when i run i close all my windows and disconect the A/C and lights, did i'm doing ok? or not?

Thanks all you guys for your help.

So when you are topping out your car, does it feel like it has a lot more power left, or does your power just die off? The reason I could only get my hatchback up to 115 is because it doesn't have enough power to get any higher....

What I'm asking, is does it accelerate pretty hard all the way up to 100mph? I'm beginning to think your "JDM Ecu" is limiting you to 100mph.

Yes,you are right, when i top my car at 100mph i feel like it has a lot more power left. In 1/4 or streetrace i kick ass! it's pretty fast, but when i get to 100mph i can't get no more speed, and some many people told me that it can be muy JDM ECU it's just disagned for acceleration not for top speed. It can be! but i think that my oversized Rims don't helping me a lot too.
