Angry Top speed on My CIVIC

Yesterday i went to the beach with my older brother, and he have a VW GOLF A4 2.0, and i have a Civic 94 Vtec coupe with Exhaust system and Intake system , and my brother have that too in his Golf, and I have 17 inch RIMs in my Civic and My Top Speed is only 100 MPH and i lost . What do I have to do in order to gain more speed? do i have to change my RIMS? or what add on i can put in my Civic to gain more power Thanks

Well, changing your rims for lighter ones might help, but not by much. That'll more help your acceleration.

Basically, if you wanna get a much higher top speed out of your car, you gotta get rid of that engine. Otherwise, you're pretty much limited to I/H/E, some underdrive pulleys, maybe a camshaft or something. You can get a lightened flywheel to get more power to your wheels... maybe lighten your car up somehow... Off the top of my head, thats it. I'm sure theres other things, but those will give you a good start

I/H/E is Intake, Header, Exhaust... I cant really see those three things improving your top speed very much, but I dont really know much about civics *shrugs*

i dont think changing your rims will help that much. i have 16 in. rims on my 97 HB and all i have is a exhaust and intake. My top speed is 105mph. the top speed of any car depends on how much HP the engine can put out.

that's weird........i have a 95 civic lx...and once i drove on the freeway and i topped at around 115 mph, and the car won't acclerate anymore.

or maybe i was going down hill, so my top speed is higher ?

It's Stick (manual) y I'm not able to go faster than 100 MPH except downhill. In 1/4 miles I'm able to kick ass but on highways I can't get the car past 100 MPH.

Just intake and exhaust on my EX. VTEC light was custom by me. I had a how-to page up, but I messed up my website when I signed up for my domain, but I still have the page on my computer if you really want me to send it to you.
