BINGO!... plus its cheaper, easier and clearance wise is fine.

yes but the whole problem is under the frt subframe and drivers side floor....that hump in the pass side floor is there for the stock cat., without that a lowered car would be near impossiable. Regardless you want to run mufflers no matter if its a turn down (under the car) or a side exit the mufflers wont fit under the car in a lowered 3rd gen.

Re: Lowered Third Gen with Side exit exhaust-Will bottom out easily??

So would someone help me out? I want to get my camaro ready for Camaro Superfest of 06 here in Michigan and I think the whole side pipe exhaust idea would really stand out. I wouldn't do the work myself; but probibly go to someone my boyfriend knows who could do it for a good deal. ANYWAY... I just bought my 2nd third generation camaro. It's an 88 sport coupe with a v6. yeh pathetic I know. Hopefully I can have a 305 or 350 in it before the show. It seems a little lower than my 90, but I was wondering if they would fit on my 88. SECOND, does anyone have a picture of a 3rd gen with side pipes?

Re: Lowered Third Gen with Side exit exhaust-Will bottom out easily??

and another question. What i'm picturing with the side exhaust is not just the pipe sticking out, the whole setup from behind the front tires out to the back tires. sorry im not to technical on my terms. I don't have a pic; but my unkle had (had) the side pipes like that on his 79 trans am.

Ive seen a true dual setup that actually worked didnt bottom out..........although the mufflers are after the axel, but dual piping all the way through.
