Fantastic hard job: hard times also for '80 contest's people. Now I KNOW I can't finish my project in time.

Uff! Sensational detail.
Q: Are you leaving the shocks as kit parts?!

Not sure yet. But probably will replace them with the parts from the SMS 956 kit.

Re: Eighties Contest Entry: 1988 Porsche 962C Shell Le Mans 1988

Time for masking & painting...

All body parts sprayed with Tamiya's white surfacer, then a mist of gloss white...

After dried, mask off area for spraying yellow (TS-16)...

Then mask off for red (TS-49)...

Something went wrong... I found the yellow I used did not match with the color of the decal
It looks more closely to TS-47 (the middle one)

So, remask for yellow, this time TS-47...

Then mask off for black...

Finally...

Cheers,
A_C

GREAT paint job! What kind of masking materal are you using? I have not seen that transparent type before...or is just plain masking tape?

If it something different, what are the advantages?

Rick

Yes, Tamiya masking tape is the most reliable that I've been used so far.

Actually, the painting needs a lot touch up that not shown in the pics...

Fantastic paint job, I wouldn´t have to self control to take it that far with difficult paint schemes. Nice to have this build in the contest!
