1/4 mile= 16.8...seems low

Well you can define that any way you want, but I was reading the april SCC and they said there stock 5th DX hatch(with 175k miles) ran a 16.8.... does that seem right? I thought EX's ran high 16s low 17s. And when they swapped the b16a w/ i/h/e and cat it ran a 14.8...and this is in a 5th dx hatch.....

It sounds totaly fine to me. My 95 Dx Hatch with an intake can run right along side a Prelude Si and an Accord Ex (previous version, 2.2 Vtec) straight up to 100 mph. I guestimated at mid 16's.

It all depends on the driver... I ran my '99 Civic DX Hatch 16.7 with just a short-ram intake... whooptie doo, an extra .01 horsepower... anyway, yeah, 16.8 sounds right.

depends on the tranny and driver. I am supposed to get 16.8 in my auto EX 95. I don't, I get 16.2. All I added was an intake. I even have an auto, I just do the gas in a way that facilitates shifting, increasing accel. A DX manual is even more driver-dependant. It might be possible to get 16.8 if the driver was really freaking good. Not likely, but possible.

its very very possible a coupe weighs a hell of alot more than a hatch.

16.2 in an auto EX coupe... hmm I wonder what my EX is with manual, intake, exhaust, (use to have the interior stripped, but just started putting it back in because inspection is coming up, and I'm debating on selling it), and I have new tires on it.. man I always thought EX's were high 16s low 17 second cars..man I would even think about turboing an EX now...but too bad its got 115k miles Maybe I'll swap another ex engine in

Well, think about it this way... Your little D16z6 is capable of mid 16's stock... Throw in a B16a2 and you're capable of runnin' low 15's... Even if you turbo'd your D16, it might not even be as fast as a B16'd 5th gen coupe... just get a damn engine swap :argue:

yeah, I was just joking about swapping in another d16z6.... I couldn't see swapping that motor back in...and if I'm gonna swap...I'd make it worth it But I doubt I will be keeping this car over a year anymore.. but we will see...

ok, my friend has a 92 hatch dx and i have a 97 coupe ex. we've raced before and I beat the HELL out of him. It was shorter than a quarter mile tho, prolly 1/8 of a mile. I've driven his car and it accelerates soo slooow compared to mine.. I dont know, his isnt really in good condition.
