Your top speed for either gear set will be 117mph. since you have a 92 RS the PROM's speed limiter is set to 117.

Re: top speed?

you know some of those v12's are only 4 or 5 liters...remember that whole displacement replacement saying? The monkey butt guy was right in one reguard. Euro cars in general handle better. Yes america has the corvette but not much else. American cars have the power while euro cars have finesse. Just comes down to the drivers preference. That guy was just trying to start crap though. I hate it when people shut their minds to only one group or make of cars.

only a final point when I went to the rolex 24 hour race a couple weeks ago I do recal seeing quite a few porsche's behind the few corvettes and gto's. Of course there were a lot in front as well because the things were everywhere.

anyways apples and oranges....and pears i guess( for the jap cars)

Re: top speed?

and as far as the top speed thing just dig around for some performance calculations that will calculate it. final drive times rpm times....tire size or something. Given enough room your top speed will only be limited by your redline of the motor. Just plan to make your power where you can use it. How often are you gonna hit 120mph? and 4.10 would be wayyy to much for that little motor. Maybe off the line but anywhere else its gonna be a dog. Id get 3.42's but thats just me.

Re: top speed?

Viper is another bad ass American car. Don't count that out. Also don't forget the Shelby 427 Cobra jet. A oldie but one sweet ass ride

Re: top speed?

true. Cars like the viper and corvette are just bargains for what you get and the price you pay. Sure cars put out by companies that are devoted to producing sports cars that have long price tags might handle a little better overall. But for a $60000 500hp sports car that will out handle most anything else on the road is just plain awsome.

Also something that the monkey butt said about the corvette finally have an independent rear suspension setup......yeah its had that for a while now...

The cobra jet is an awsome car but its also one of the rarest things to see. Most people who have them just park them and lock them up.

Also want to bring up the cobalt. The car handles very well! and the ss version has some very good power.

Re: top speed?

The Viper, while I love the car, is FAR from being either a bargain or effecient or practical... all of which are traits of the Vette

Re: top speed?

effeicient as far as gas maybe(dont think it applies to those who like to go fast) but the vette is not practical. Its a sports car. True sports cars are not practical. Vipers cost about 80000 dont they?

Re: top speed?

I was not talking about gas milage so much as the engine itself... and the vette is tons more practical than the viper

Re: top speed?

And the Vette is more affordable than the GT, but that thing looks pretty good itself..

With 3.42's your top speed should be around 154, realistically, assuming you have the HP to support it (around 210 or so).
3.73's would be a bit less.
On paper 3.42's will get you 175 mph, 3.73's will be 160 mph. Calculated with both running 245/50/16 tires and a 700R4 trans.
