Re: Capoeria vs Muy Thai
LOL, well the Muy Tai in the movie is obviously integrated with some flashy moves...less we forget that it is a movie for entertainment purposes. Anyways Capoiera, despite your opinion on it, is one hell of a show to watch...

Re: Capoeria vs Muy Thai
...and don't forget that if a capoerista feels like kicking you in the face, he DOESN'T have to ginga to get to the kick.
what most people think of when capoeria is mentioned is the roda, which is the game/training side. While it will have similar elements, it isn't the same as fighting. The reason for it's not too impressive pro-fight record is that, much like many other "traditional" arts, it's spent too long out of actual fight envirnoment. In contrast, events such as the K1, Pride and UFC has essentially made up a new style (MMA) of fight training which in theory, any one from any style can train for. MMA isn't simply about learning x styles and mixing them up. It is for all intent purposes, a new style that can be learnt as a separate entity. ....but yeah. it's a film. give me a couple of hours and I can get you doing some pretty decent fight scenes which can be made to look better after some premiere work. |
