Engine dies when turn on A/C

okay, I went to Autozone and they checked my battery and alternator... Both are in good condition... My car is starting to overheat lately, I don't know if it has any connection to this, but i'll post it on another thread...

how many times do i have to say it the problem isnt electrical (only thing dealing with electricty for ac is the fan THAS IT) your compressor is probly fuked

^^ possible, i'm just saying i had a car which the alternator was giong and it died when i turned on the AC, after the alternator was fixed, everything ran good.

i believe you ran out of power or caused the alternator to go bad and that would be why it died, it was trying to charge itself, and you asked too much from it. your best option is buying an alternator that can support your system. given that i have no system and don't plan to though, i can't help you on the brand or choice of alternator. i took mine to a local mechanic, no way i was getting under the hood of a 15 yr. old ford taurus... it was like 100$

Hmm you say AC.
i never accuaclty tryied that b4. but what i can say is the same thing will happen if you turn on ur front defroster. the car will violently shake n rev lower to near death and or die.
The only cure i found is that drive it real quick for a min or less and park it and then turn on the ac or defroster then it should work just fine. but yes the problem will still exsist
I do belive it has sumthin to do with the sparkplugs being old too because im at about 50k even thou i need em change at 60k but thats just on adv about how many time u do start ur car so it can be a lil less than it accually is.
Sometimes ill have the violent shaking and under rev fluxs on startup along with odd noises under the hood.

I believe that when you turn on front defroster, it automatically turns on the A/C for you even if you don't push the A/C button...

This feature also appears on my 2000 Corolla...

But yay, I am gonna get mine tuned this Saturday, hopefully it's jus the spark plugs that's causing my problem...
