LOL so true, 90% of so called "drifters" couldn't correctly define a drift (let alone execute one intentionally) if they tried...

That's what I mean with an exhaust like that... It's not the way it sounds to me (IMO) it's the way it sounds to the cop who pulls you over and then develops a stereo type for imports... do you understand?

I completely respect your opnion however if that "was" the case a fireing squad would be on my ass by now My theory if you haven't noticed is "Go before show" or "Gas before Flash" and what not. It's one thing to try an look and sound it, it's another to actaully be fast.

My friend has an R33 Gt-t (Rb swap) that runs high 8's and yet it still is street legal I highly doubt any civic that is street legal can run 8.8 or even 9.5 or faster.

Re: what got you into cars?

I think JCSaleen has hijacked this thread. I'm sorry but not everybody gets into cars for muscle and hp. And not every import that isn't one of the glorified Japanese muscle cars (such as Supra, Skyline GTR, Silvia, FD, etc.) sucks. They have a purpose. Most are economy cars and yes the F&F movies did add to the "ricer" phenomenon. But there are other purposes as well. I bought my crx (which was pretty riced out) because I thought it would be economical as well as handle decent. I sold my 944 to buy my crx. I've always been into imports but older, smaller imports. I'm older so when I was younger and first learned to drive my friends had rwd corolla wagon 5 speeds that were skater-mobiles that we loaded up with stuff and as many people as we could, and went on excursions to places like Philadelphia, Atlantic City, NY, etc. Then I got into loud music so I put a system in my POS car that killed how many alternators. Anyway, I didn't really get into mechanics until after I dumped countless amounts of money into my 944. I came to AF to help maintain my CRX (since the 88-91 Civic/CRX section is the best source of info). But honestly, I've always had a passion for rally. There is a rally race once a year a couple hours from where I live now, but it's mainly Subarus and AWDs competing. I've never been much into SCCA parking lot races so I've taken my cars up the mountain to access roads. I started with a 87' Tercel hatchback 1.5L POS, then sold that to my nephew and he jumped it and it still drove! Then I got my 944 and I took it up the mountain through a field, had a deer jump over the hood, a bat hit the window and landed inside the car as well as many other crazy things happen including drifting. So that brings me to my CRX. I've had the car over 3 years and have taken it everywhere! And I do mean everywhere... including jeep trails. Don't ask! I've even gotten it sideways on a number of occasions (but don't anymore). It may be more dangerous than parking lot racing and it's not exactly street racing or track racing for that matter, but I've had lots of fun. My suspension isn't that great anymore and I need the car to commute 80 miles a day so I take it easy. I will always be a small "egg" car kind of person though I love all types of cars. I can't even make up my mind what kind of vehicle I want to purchase next because a) I don't have a wad of cash to blow and b) I just can't make up my mind.
