what got you into cars?

mine's a pretty long story.
when i was little i used to walk to school and everyday i saw this ferrari (didn't know what car it was at that time) but i knew it was fast because of the typical low swoopy car with a lot of gauges inside and stuff. ( can't remember but i think it was a testarossa or 348 tb). got into cars a little bit, just little things like i stated learning cars' names and stuff like that and when i got older i got more into exotics cos my neighbor drove an elise and this guy down the street from my school drove a green murcielago and i turned into one of those kids who think they know everything when they dont know sh*t.

muscle cars
when i got into middle school i met this guy who was into muscle cars (a lot) he seriously wouldn't shut the fuck up about them and pretty soon i got hooked too. i first started learning about camaro's since that was the only muscle car he knew and loved (ford hater) pretty soon i got bored so i didn't learn that much. i still buy a hot rod magazine once in a while but just not for me.

lowriders
don't really know how i got into them but i just liked to see cars jump but after some time i figured out that the whole thing wasn't for me and i was pretty pissed since i had spent a lot of money on lowrider mags.

not so proud of this but the fast and the furious and 2f2f actually got me into import cars, i turned into a ricer really fast (they call me the delivered ricer). never got a subscription to an import car magazine mostly because i didn't know what the fuck they were talking about and i think pimp my ride added to my riceiness (created a new word woot!!!!!). i got over the rice when i started wondering about all the technical stuff in the movies like what was coming out of the skyline's bumper (yeah i know it was nitrous purge) and soon ebough i was wondering about how other technical stuff like how an engine works, how a rotary engine works, how a turbo works and stuff like that and a few months after i found AF on the internet and joined. still have a lot to learn about imports and can somebody teach me how to memorize the freakin engine codes?

motorbikes
i've been into motorbikes since i was born like i used to pretend that i was revving an engine when i was on my bike or i put a soda can under my bike's fender to make it sound like an engine. but never got into it until this movie, not too proud to say it but it started when i saw biker boyz i got seriously obsessed. i was into stunts and all that stuff but a few issues of sport rider set me straight.

My dad, at first it was me sitting in the kitchen when i was a kid, and i would hear a loud clanking sound followed by "mother fucker, omg that hurt, sharon get a towel and some bandaids!!" Eventually i went out there to see what he was doing and it turns out he was working on his Camaro, i would sit there and watch him, and eventually he started showing me some stuff, and what to do. The first day he let me drive the camaro i was 18, he had just put a new cam in it. That's when i decided to make being around cars my career to.

I grew up with 3 older brothers...I've been around cars all my life. Which is kinda funny being as how I know NOTHING about cars other than how to race/drive them. (Although several states will disagree that I know how to operate a vehicle safely.) I can't even pump gas...I can check the oil though. That's gotta count for something right?

videogames. and these days since i commute on the metro to work, they are my closest thing to driving half the time. anyone play project gotham racing 3. its unbelievably realistic looking (a little less realistic driving). i got it from gamefly and i plan on keeping it. i hope xbox 360 gets a steering wheel soon to support this game.

my (ex) boyfriend loves cars and car audio so since i've known him for 3 years i was surrounded by it. we always were taking rides in his mustang gt and talking to his other car friends. sadly i still know virtually nothing about cars.

When I was little...like 3 years old, my dad had a '79 regal with a built 350 chevy in it. He let me sit on the fender and put the rockers in it...that was so cool. How many 3 year olds can say they know what roller rockers are? It had open headers with 3 inch collectors. It was loud to say the least. It was a sight to see it sit there and quake like it was about ready to molest something. He ended up selling it and buying a '91 camaro RS which is the sweetest looking one besides a '69 imo. Unfortunately my mom got the camaro in the divorce and traded it for a '97 lumina. Sadly, what got me into imports was F&F. I hated all the stickers but thought it was badass how they took econoboxes and made 'em run like raped apes.

I've been into cars my entire life. Started getting matchbox and hot wheels and anything else car related before i could even speak. The Testarossa a guy bought 2 blocks behind me when I was 3 drew my attention to Ferrari's. Even at the age they were way more than a car to me.

I cant think of a time in my life when I wasnt into cars. The first class I ever went to in high school was automotive tech, my truck i got when i was 14 was a piece of shit so I was always working on it, rebuilt the tranny at 15 before i even had my liscense. When I was like 4 I used to sit in my dads lap and he would let me steer his 1974 mercedes sl. The car I learned to drive a stick in was a 97 bmw z3....how could i not love cars!

I'd spend many boring summer days as a young kid with my grandparents and my uncle left behind this big wooden chest of his old toys. There were some Hot Wheels, legos, and some dominos. So eventually I got the idea to set up the legos and dominos so that it marked out a road on the kitchen floor. Now that I think about it, I was simulating road racing before I ever knew what it was, lol. Videogames helped out alot too. The original Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit got me addicted big time. Then magazines fueled the flame. Sadly in my ricer days (we've all been there, plus I was like 14, stfu) I wanted a Civic, then an Integra. I remember I went to England while I was still in my ricer phase and I saw a R33 GT-R and thought not to much of it, just kinda like, eh, thats cool. Then I saw an Integra and I was like OHOHOHOHOOOOOOOOO SHIET! I so wish I would've realized that I might not ever see a Skyline again, lol. Then the internet and AF is where I gained alot of knowledge. Now I'm 18 with my own car and aspirations to go to UTI or something. I should write a book...

and now she's trading the lumina in on an explorer....she's gonna be like every other woman with an suv. Welp, there WILL be a set of rims on it even if i have to buy the bastards myself.
