2000 Tahoe power window
I have a 2000 Tahoe which I have owned from new. When it was 2 weeks old the drivers side window stopped working so the dealer replaced the regulator. It did it again after another 3 weeks, new regulator.
About a month ago the passenger side window stopped working, so I booked it into the dealership. On the morning I took it in, the window started working again, and the service writer insisted it was just the switch (it wasn't as I had checked the voltage to the motor) so they changed it out.
Now that the car is just out of warranty, the window has stopped working again. I have measured the voltage going to the motor and all is good, the polarity changes too. So I am going to take the trim off and investigate.
Question - is there a known weakness in GM window regulators? I find it hard to believe that a motor could die mechanically in such a short space of time without slowing down/stalling. Is there maybe a circuit breaker or something in the motor that is stopping it working?
I would love someones opinion on this as it has to be something simple.
Thanks very much
Andrew
