Re: Parts Crossover
the higher the octane, the less chance of detonation occuring so always use the highest you can get for the best results...

Re: Parts Crossover
On an SR, KA-T or RB, I would go to 91, even at low boost.

Sounds about right seeing as how the Wrx is a turbo with comparable power and it also requires 91 octane. I"m still having trouble finding as to what i should gap my spart plugs too, plus I really want to get a tuneup and what to know what other us sold sr20 motors use the same oli filters and belts. I want to guess '93 sentra se-r but since its n/a it could very well have a different filter because of a different oil flow rate as it does not need to feed the turbo. I don't want to be choking off my oil supply, does anyone know what their tuner shops use? And as for R.W.240's last post, I'm sorry but I can't belive your claim to be incorrect. The '93 sentra definatly has a different alternator and It deffinatly has higher compression(9.5:1 vs 8.5:1) which leads me to believe that its not possible for even to head bolts to have the same torque specs.

The compression difference is in the pistons not the head gasket. The motors are the same internally short of some minor (and for what your asking about, inconsequential) differnces... I have a motor built off the USDM torque specs. |

Re: Parts Crossover
I was also wondering which USDM engine used the same oil filter as the SR?

Re: Parts Crossover
The one from the SR20DE is what everyone uses... OEM or Bosch are the best.
Or you can just get the Legit SR20DET one from SPL. |

Does any one know for sure(as in they've done it or seen it work.) if any of the U.S. sold sr20s have the same belts as the sr20 det?

Re: Parts Crossover
here, different gas companies will sell different grades. the most popular ones sell 87, 89 and 91, while some of the private or smaller companies will sell 87, 89, 91 and 93 or just 87, 89 and 93.. but i'd only fill up or use 93 if there was gonna be a cold night we were going to drive on
