I had one mechanic replace the coil, plugs, plug cables, and fuel filter. I also had him clean the fuel injectors ($450). Then I replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor ($50). This week I had another shop work on it. They said it was a wiring harness problem to the fuel injection and part of the F/I needed to be replaced ($1000). I drove it away from the shop with no problem until it was fully warmed up. At 65-70mph it acted up again. Had it towed back in yesterday and still waiting for diagnoses. Should be done by today.

Are you getting code 43? Or do you know how to check the codes yourself? If not, I can explain how.

jmbean40... What was the result of your latest diagnoses after you had your van towed in? Would like to know if it was fixed. Thanks,

gotta be the fuel pump!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the last post. i had a 96 stratus that would die on long trips (2 hrs+ at hwy speeds) , sometime starting back up in a few minutes, but progressively getting worse. even died in the middle of nowhere,AL at 4am & i had it towed to the dealer & they changed the oil pressure switch(said the fuel pressure was tied in to the fuel pump)& told me it was fixed. guess what, on return trip, killed again.car went to several reputable shops, but none could duplicate it cuz they wouldnt drive it on the interstate nonstop for hours at a time. when it FINALLY died for good & wouldnt restart after sitting, i had it towed to the shop & SURPRISE, BAD FUEL PUMP!!!!!!
no problems ever since after several road trips.

FUEL PUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!
