i would love to help you, more so myself. i really dont think there is help. this is the way dealerships/loan companies want it.i signed a contract. with a horrible deal in it. the sticker price was great in 2002 for a 2002 grand am, it was $14,500. with interest, and extra warrenty, gap coverage, tax, title, tags, and accidental death coverage the loan jumped $24,000 for a car still worth $14,500 until of course i drove it off the lot so it lost about 30% of its value. my best suggestion is to stick out, and go japanese next time the resale value of a 95 honda accord base model with a few options is higher then my 02 grand am.

Re: the great leganza
I just got a 2000 Leganza for my wife last week for $700 in need of a timing belt and a few valves... So far I like the car... I like the look of it, inside and out, engine seems so simple for a 2000 it's retarded (no MAF shocked me). It has almost 74k miles on it, and the book said 72k miles for the timing belt.... To be honest, I think that is pretty messed up only getting 2k miles before the belt goes, so I got a highly saturated nitrile belt (runs cooler then regular belt) for it and plan to change it at 50k. I got it for my wife because she is in school for nursing, and she needs something more reliable and safer (in the snow for sure, especially the highway) then her 95 T-bird w/4.6l no ABS&traction control. So far only been down the road in it a couple miles (towing to my friends house, lol), but it seemed to have a nice and quiet ride. As for the post above mine for the dash coming unglued, I bought a 92 Lumina Z34 5 speed from a guy in Texas, and he had pulled panels and used epoxy to hold down where the vinyl attached to the plastic. Best way to do that is to catch it before it does it though... but I did it in my 91 Z34 after it had pulled up, and it did look better then i did before i tried it, just have to hold the vinyl in place while the epoxy sets up. For fabric, I have used rubber cement, but spray adhesive worked better the second time around then the rubber cement did.

Daewoo is a good car if you maintain it it will last forever. I have Daewoos coming to the shop with 100K plus on them. Funny they all change their oil and timing belt at 60k is crucial.
61k they break and bend some valves and all kinds of havoc. Its also a good idea to flush the cooling system. Most of the ones we got had the incorrect coolant in them and supposedly where changed at port. The coolant that was in some was corrosive and eats the head gasket, water pump fins and so on. |

Re: the great leganza
I got the head off of ours today..... I had the exhaust manifold off last night, looked in the ports, same cylinder that had the bent intake valves has bent exhaust valves too. The cylinder on the tranny end had heavy diposits in the port that looked to me like coolant. I looked closely at the head gasket today after getting the head off and it looks like it had started to leak coolant into the cylinder. I look at this as killing 2 birds with 1 stone, and am actually kind of glad the valves got bent, making me take the head off to find this. I had noticed the coolant in the bottle looked like crap before I even took the first wrench to the engine, and now I know why.
