Here is the cutout itself:

I have the electronic valve(the shiney silver part), but if you purchase just the cutout, it will come with a plate, gasket, and 3 wing nuts for you to crawl under the car and cap/uncap it. I chose the electronic part for ease of changing my tone... so with the flip of the switch:

I've gotten tons of compliments on it, though at first I thought it sounded like a dump-truck It grew on me and I love it, though I think long tubes will make it much... meaner I love how I can pull up to a light with it closed, a ricer pull up, rev... I rev with it closed... he's thinking "hmm, stock" then I'll open it up before I nail it and it sounds like all hell is breaking loose compared to the rev he first heard

I got the cutout for $30, and the electronics for I think $150, both from www.thunderracing.com

It cost me $25 to get the cutout welded in, and I did the electronics myself. It was very simple, here is a basic diagram of where the wires are run... Just as a side note I used the negative(black) wire from the cigarette lighter and the positive(red) wire from the light under the shifter plate.

So as a result I need to turn my lights on to open or close the cutout. I like it that way so at least during the daytime my idiot passenger can't fiddle with it I only close it at night though when I'm coming home late and don't want to PO the neighbors.

It sounds absolutely best giving it a short rev and while accellerating at WOT. Which is where it really counts

Re: what would you get?

I like the cutout idea. Real loud every day gets old fast. I like for my cars to sound good, no popping when I let off of the gas, but throaty when I stomp on it. A loud ass drone just ruins the ride for me, but I live in the country so it's a 10 mile drive to go into town. At 70mph on the interstate that gets annoying, but everybody has thier own preferences.
