Re: carputer?
if your going by the voltage on the gauges ill tell you rite now they are off. if ur pushin 19v then the ses should be lit up and u should be havin electrical problems. put a multimeter up to the battery when you start it to get a true reading. i remember mine used to always read like 16 on the guage and i hooked up my laptop and it was only like 14.1 max. stock guages are not reliable at all for that stuff

I am curious - did you find the way to solve this power problem?
Also thinking about building the carputter for myself. |

What ever you do you really dont want to plug it into the ACC. line because most cars will turn this on then off then on then off while starting, which is not good at all for the computer's power supply unit (PSU). It should be connected directly to the battery somehow. This may help. Someone that built an in car MP3 player that is a computer. An inverter is also a bad if you plan to use it for music because stepping voltage to 110VAC then the computer PSU brings it back down to 12VDC, which can bring noise into the system.
Link 1: These power supplys can be connected right to the car's 12V system and it will automatically do the rest to power the computer: http://www.arisecomputer.com/ps/ace800.asp NOTE: the ACE-865V would be used in a car. ![]() I would recommend one of these power supplies I saw here: http://www.customcarputers.com/Power%20Supplies.htm It appear that these are specificly designed for carputers. |
