Re: IAT sensor
Mod'd Cav
Actually it can help in really hot weather, like here 105, because your IAT sensor gets hotter than the air really is when the car is idling so it is in essance, being tricked, and puts even less gas in and you can't get any speed. So this helps the engine think it is closer to the speed, you want a 2.2k ohm resistor for that though. This is only in hot climates, otherwise the 100k ohm is supposed to be good.

Ok, so all I do is plug the ends of the resistor into the terminals of the wire harness and leave the sensor itself unplugged? I'll probably do it today or tomorrow if thats all there is to it.

Re: IAT sensor
[email protected], you just plug in the resistor ends into the metal rings. Just make sure the resistor's metal lines don't cross or you will defeat your purpose.

man I have no clue where the damn sensor is. I've got one plug that runs into the harness going into the MAF sensor that kinda looks like it but when I unplug it, it doesn't do anything to the car while its running.
I'm not sure what that is. I can't find anything about it in my haynes manual either so I'm stuck. I hate having a 2se cuz nothing is the same as the rest of the fourth gens. Any help would be great because I already bought the resistor and dont know where to plug it in. Also does anyone know if I need a half volt or a quarter volt resistor?

Re: IAT sensor
The ait sensor will only have two wires running to it, no more. It may plug into the MAF sensor, try puttin the resistor in that and see what happens. you can e-mail me those pics if you want.

Thanx 4 the info and the detailed technical pic
I was looking at the part in the pic and the male end is going to a small brown box or module that is bolted to the strut tower. lol. Not sure if it is important or not so I went ahead and hooked the resistor up and didnt notice any difference. Would that be it even though the sensor(If that is it) isnt in the intake track?I'll get a better pic tomorrow cuz I'll have to take the intake off to get a clear shot.

I've didn't know there was a carburated 2SE. I'll try and get a pic that isn't so blurry so I can be sure thats what it is. Thanx for all the replies.
