This may be a little late but: Yes.
I ignored my Check Engine light coming on for the Cam Sensor and it eventually shorted out and caught the top of my engine on fire causing about $3000 in damage. If you have this happen to you, fix it asap. The part is cheap... the collateral damage caused by it (harness, valve cover etc..) is not. |

I just got my recall notice on this yesterday. My "check engine" light has been on and off for awhile, but with all the other little stupid electrical problems I've had with the car, I felt pretty safe ignoring it.
I hope everyone here saved receipts, and also that you get reimbursed for the fire damage! I'm going to take them up on the recall ASAP. |

I've looked at the site that you have referenced to, but I also got a Recall letter in the mail and in it it was stated the the malfunctioning of the Camshaft Position Sensor could cause an underhood fire, which I think could possibly lead to the car not starting. |
