Yea I guess it just depends on how you interpret it, but what your thinking is what I meant. And you are right, most of those mistakes could of happened on any bike. Its really a matter of staying focused on what your doing when riding. When I ride by myself, I usually tend to be more 'into' riding and paying more attention as I look ahead for whats coming. The thing is that when you start to get side tracked, the margin of error starts to climb. If your with a bunch of friends and they are driving like they are freaking crazy, just keep your cool and stay focused. Sure you can have fun and get a little liberal, but always maintain a high percentage of concentration in the situation-at-hand (kinda like mind over matter). Losing focus is IMO why my friend always ends up getting into some situations that you don't want to be faced with.

Re: Bike comparison R1 - GSXR1000

The R1 is a little heavier than the GSXR, the R1 Redlines somewhere around 70+ MPH. GSXR is the most uncomfortable bike I have ridden. I would go for the R1 unless you want a track bike. They dont make 600's like they use to, if you want something you wont get bored of get a cbr 600 or a F4i. I have a Katana 600 which tops of @ 160-170ish but doesnt do well when I carry anyone....proly cuz its so damn heavy already. I also have well HAD a GSXR 600...all i gotta say is wheelies cost a lot of money. But its great for carrying passengers and its more power than I would ever need.

170mph katana huh? Amazing how a bike down 40 horsepower on my R6 could have a higher top speed!

Try somewhere in the neighborhood of 130mph for the top speed on a Katana 600, and obviously nowhere near the level of acceleration, handling, or braking of a modern 600 superbike.

And by the way, an F4i is a CBR600... the CBR600F4i is the predecessor to the current CBR600RR.

They don't make 600's like they used to? By that I assume you refer to their constant improvement as the years go by...

I think he means how 600s are getting less and less comfy like his Katana and older CBRs, and getting more and more track oriented. I'm not sure if he has some mods done to his Kat, but he's probably going by speedo, which could be highly inaccurate in his bike.

Also R1 redlines more than 70 mph in 1st gear, more like 95 on 2002+.
