From what I have seen while doing research before buying a rodeo I beleive the 95.5 has the same engine as the 95 (165 or 175 hp, have seen both listed) in 96 power was increased to 190 hp, then to 204 hp in 98.

Re: Anyone buy their Rodeo w/100K clocked?
I actually believe the difference between the pickup between the two was that the 95.5 did NOT have the California emissions crap, whereas the 97 does.
It literally felt simply like the 95.5 could breathe better is all. Not anymore however - may she rest in peace.

I bought my 2000 Rodeo with 99,600. I now have about 125,000. I have yet to do anything to it except oil changes. I am guessing it uses about 1/2 quart or less between oil changes (4000). What I did before I bought it was write down the vin number and went to the local Isuzu dealer service department and had them do a check on any warranty work done to the vehicle. I found out the fuel pump/sending unit, the timing belt and IMG had been changed along with some other work. From what I had read on this forum it seemed to be a pretty safe bet even with the high milage, that this vehicle would be a good purchase for the money. So far so good.
