Re: 2000 Gc Ecm

if the tps is suspect, its about $30 and very easy to replace but look at this link and you should be able to test it and get an idea what shape it is in.

Re: 2000 Gc Ecm

thank you very much. that was quick and easy, and the vehicle seems to be running much better. i took it out for 20min or so and it didnt "crawl" up the hills at all. the whole throttle body was VERY dirty. i have one more seemingly small problem. the only time anything goes wrong is when im on the highway and i put the pedal to the floor. the RPM's go about to 4 or 5, but the vehicle doesnt go over 60...it seems like it wont downshift. also, when i begin to accelerate, there seems to be a slight hesitation at times before it jerks into motion. do you think it has anything to do with the throttle position sensor? because when i had that out and i was cleaning it, i may have turned the bottom part of it that is not supposed to be turned. if so, i will buy a new one asap, i know they are moderately cheap. also, i have not disconnected the battery since i reassembled everything, so maybe the computer just needs to be reset?
oh, and one more thing..it might be possible that i did not put the accelerator cable or the one for the speed sensor (?)back on correctly bc it was getting dark when i was throwing everything back together... i think i must have or i would have more problems than that.
thank you soo much for all of your help. after the vehicle sat there for a few months, i finally had it up and running....and it only took about a half of an hour to fix.
