  • $90 Styrene
  • $10 Glue
  • $10 bolts/nuts
  • $5 on a tap
  • $30 order about to be place for bolts
  • $20 on putty
  • $3 on brass rod
  • Total of $178USD so far.
I'll probably spend another $100 in styrene soon. Scratch building ain't cheap.

Thanks for all the comments guys! Of course, I forgot to bring my camera to school today.

Worked on the upper control arm. Unfortunately I have no progress pictures. But not to fear, I will post some for the lower control arm to show how it was built.

I like my projects to be very clean and smooth lines that are not obstructed by bolts and nuts. I took this belief directly to the control arms. The shocks mount in the middle for a very clean look.

To make the design of the control arm smooth and unobstructed I built it entirely as one piece at first. Then cut out the middle piece as seen above, and it bolts together. The bolt is sanded flush with the control arm so once painted it will not be noticed and will leave people wondering how the shock was mounted.

The bolt is still removable but requires a special technique and tweezers. I like to create an original design to this model instead of using other basic off the shelf parts. I am very pleased with the result and how hidden the bolt and the removeable tube are.

Thanks for looking!

Wow! Very sexy control A-arms!
Love how the bolt is sanded flush.
So will the upper arm have the same hidden shock mount, I'm confused how the shock mounts will be hidden.
