Re: Modfied Jettas any type

I also would like advice on any ways to get more power out of my little engine. I have no engine mods but would like to do something like exhaust and intake. I have heard that unless i get the correct mods i might not gain any power or might actually lose power. Please help.

Re: Modfied Jettas any type

The only way you might lose power is from open air intake filters b/c they get so hot they actually lose power up top. Other than that decent mods would be Cold Air Intake, Exhaust, and a chip for starters.
GIAC,Techtonics,Upsolute,Autotech Qchip, and Wetterauer are some you could chose from there might be more.
Exhuast is pretty simple though I've heard good things about GHL.
The Intake I like the best would be the Turn2 Cold air intake.
Another simple mod would be Turn2 motor and tranni mounts.

Bora 4Motion VR6

Hey Guys,

I'm new to this group so a big hello to you all.
I'm considering doing the following to my new Bora 4Motion VR6 (04)
Basically I plan to do two sets of mods

Set 1
Lumpy Cam + New Springs
Chip
Extractors/exhaust
Lower the car + New Springs

Set 2
VF Engineering Supercharge

I'm thinking of implementing "hidden" set 1 now
Then set 2 when my factory warrantee runs out.

Is this a good plan?
Can I get better bang for buck doing something else?
Should I wait till end of factory warrantee before doing either?
Is the VR6 bullet proof enough that I should just do both now and not worry about the warrantee?

wow there is many street legal imports doing tens. infact my friend had a 11sec street legal civic. it wasnt on slick's or full boost ether. and vw's can be fast so stop bashing on them. there has ben many 9 sec mk3 vr6's. they can make well over 500whp. and 1.8t can be too, there is a guy doing 12s on stock turbo and no nitrous. and i have seen dyno's with 1.8t's will over 500whp. if u dont have alot of money to modd or dont want to do any major mods get a 1.8t, with a chip, downpipe, catback exhaust.intake theese cars will do low 14's high 13's if u r a good driver. the only way to really get alot of power out of a vr6 is to go forced introduction.
dont want to go crazy modding=1.8t
have alot of money to mod=vr6
and dude atleast learn about your own car before u bash on it
