Re: IPMS Nats - results?

Ramon,
Sorry for the news and we can only hope you get some good news soon.
I place this squarely and solely on the IMPS and they should be more aggressive in trying to resolve this.

Re: IPMS Nats - results?

For someone who lost such a beautiful model, you sure are taking this awfully well! I would sue the pants off the IPMS, the Hotel, and anyone else I could think of for the amount of work and love you put into that gorgeous Ferrari.

There's been no mention of the stolen Ferrari, or the results of the contest on the IPMS forum. There have been numerous requests for information about the status of the stolen Ferrari. ALL IGNORED, and no response form the people who are responsible for resolving this.

If it had been the best tank or airplane, the IPMS guys would put forth some effort. But since it's just a car, why bother right?.

The show was fun, but the post-show has been a circus, and the organizers are starting to look like clowns.

Re: IPMS Nats - results?

Can't we organise an "e.petition" or something to help Ramon out on this? Is there an email adres we can mail to keep the preasuure up on the organisers?

Just a thought but I think Ramon deserves all the help he can get to try and recover the model he invested so much time and effort in.

Nothing yet

Hello all:

Thousand thanks for your support.

I have been sending e-mails to the Chairman of the contest Paul Cotcher, with no any response, it's a shame they are being so insensitive to this event, it seems that they simply do not take any responsibility.

He told me they would receive the surveilance videos from the hotel, but that was 3 weeks ago, and have no any other response from them, even when I have sent some e-mails requesting it.

It's a shame this things can happen, but it's worst the response of the "responsible" people...

Re: Nothing yet

I posted a request for an update about your missing Ferrari on the IPMS forum, and the status of the video footage.

This is the response Paul Cotcher wrote:

However, what's interesting, is that given what the different witnesses have told us regarding the time frame that they saw the model still in the room, and when the owner went back to get it, we're concerned that it may not have been a convention attendee that took it.

We are still working on it here, and will post when we have anything of substance.
I can't believe that Paul can post in an international forum, but can not take the time to answer your very important e-mails.

I'm guessing the next thing we'll hear regarding your stolen model is that the security footage was lost on the computer during it's service.

It's a shame that this crime doesn't seem to be taken seriously by the people we trusted with the well being of our models for 4 days.

Hopefully the thief will be stupid enough to enter it into another show!

Re: IPMS Nats - results?

Such a shame
after reading all of this I wouldn't trust organisers either. Maybe some of the judges liked it to much. Not to point the finger but it all smells pretty bad.

Aren't they insured at least?

It would be a VERY poor substitute for Ramon but at least if the organisers' insurance was hit, then there would be implications for the insurance premium at the next shows and at least it would motivate all concerned about ensuring this kind of thing never happens again!

The loss is bad enough but it would be negligent/remiss in the extreme not to learn all possible form this incident and take appropriate measures in the future.

In my opinion - a financial hit for the organisers and/or insurers is the best carrot (or stick) to get them moving on it.
