Re: questions on a noob bike?
Realistically, you're never going to find the limits of a gsxr 750. In fact, the more down on power the bike is that you learn to race on, the better you will be in the long run, because you wont have horsepower to use to cover your mistakes. I see no reason whatsoevever to modify it. Save the cash for tires and track fees.
Something interesting to try if you want to see how bad your technique really is (not meant as an insult), find a tight mountain road and put the bike in neutral at the top and coast race down. It will highlight problem areas you have that you might not otherwise find when you can just grab more throttle to fix problems. Coast racing other people is a load of fun, too. And I dont have a damn clue what you meant by "racing gears". |

Re: questions on a noob bike?
my first bike to own is my cbr f3.. my first bike to ride was an older yahama 400 street bike... used it for about a week untill my friends dad totaled it about 4 years ago... didnt get back into bikes till my friend got one and that wsa it..
and as far as having the power and not using it.. dont expect anyone that buys say a new 600 or 750 to go out and never go above 7k rpm's.. its impossible... i wasnt the smartest peanut in the turd... i did 100mph the first day.. (well i guess its more like 80 since i found mout my spedometer is off by like 25%)... yes i about ate it 4 days later when the mix of me using my rear brake and having a bald ass tire in a turn about made me eat shit.... it woke me up and i didnt ride it till i got a new tire.. and when i did i baby'd it for the next few days (for tire break in and just being nervous).. then started getting more confortable.. now its 4 months later and i have put 5,000 miles on my bike... its fricking sad... anyway.. i hope your friend gets a bike that suits him and he will love.. good luck and see ya on the road
