Did you start that whole thread just to disprove what I posted earlier? You could have just talked about it in here. That's what forums are for, you know. Anyways whatever bro. You're fixated on bashing Evos even though nobody in their right mind would ever call it a better car than an E46 M3. I know I didn't and wouldn't.

My Evo RS is rated at 4.3 seconds for 0-60mph and 0-100 in about 12 second IIRC. The M3 numbers I saw were 0-60mph is 4.6 seconds and 0-100mph in about 12 seconds also. To be honest I don't even care. I'm arguing Evo vs. M3 with a guy that drives a Mazda pickup truck.
and what someone drives has anything to do with experence or knowledge? actually that thread was started a long time ago, back when this thread only had maybe 3 pages...good job reading dates
of course what do i know, i have to carry shit around for my job so i drive a pick up and like to do a lil off roading and like to pay 450 every 6months for insurance, therefor i know nothing what was i ever thinking asking people to discuss two widely renound cars in the proper forum instead of wasting space in the street racing forum. but what do i know? i drive a Mazda pick up...
And id really like to see an Evo scoot to 60 in 4.2...this would put it in middleish porsche / c6 corvette territory...and i KNOW no 270bhp 3500lb vehicle is going to scoot to 60 faster than 400bhp 3100ish lb car with some pretty stickey rubber in the rear...270hp and AWD or not
but hey, what do i know, Mazda isnt even mazda any more...my truck is basically a 3.0l ranger...therefor i am stupid...

You're the one who started magazine racing. You dug up some numbers and so did I...

http://www.forbesautos.com/advice/toptens/fastest.html

I really don't care what car you drive, but it seems unusual to me that a guy without an M3 or Evo is so well informed and has such strong opinions of both.

BTW...I could be wrong, but I don't think the original poster meant for the title of the thread to be taking literally. It's sorta like saying "screw Carmen Elektra, I'm getting me some Serena Williams" or "screw Lobster, I'm getting me some steak and patatos". This is silly.

And this makes you an expert on both cars?

Dude, face it. You have an opinion. Doesn't necessarily make you right, as both cars are engineered by people WAY smarter than you'll ever be, and both are raced professionally by drivers that you will never be close in skill to.

It's about preference, and I see you'd prefer to be an ass, so be it. Opinions are like assholes, you know?

i was in no way an ass untill some one decides to be an ass to me, point and case, here. now as far as skill is concerned, no i will never race profesionally and therefor dont need to be able to handle an evo or M3 at 100+ mph like its a walk in the park, skill has nothing to do with research, i had a point and case with facts to back it up along with other people to back it up along with some basic knowledge of power to weight ratio's. i never denied that an evo was a great car, as a matter of fact i will openly state, for the quadbillionth time, the Evo is clearly the better perfomance vaule of similar age and milage, however the M3 is the better car, it has been proven, these claims of a 4.2 0-60 by an AWD with 271bhp coming from an engine with a peaky power curve that weighs 3500lbs laws of physics do apply to japanies engineerd cars too...

The heaviest Evo (the '05 MR) weighs 3285lbs. The Evo that pulled that real low 0-60mph time I posted earlier was an '05 RS. It weighs 3197lbs because it's a stripped down version...no wing, no road insulation, no stereo, no power windows/locks, no ABS and no trunk lining.

The E46 M3 coupe weighs 3415lbs and the E46 M3 convertible weighs a wopping 3781lbs.

Re: Screw an M3, I'm gettin me an EVO

the Evo also has to account for driver , assumeing a 200lb male that is nearly 3400lbs, and thoes are not always true curb weights, my truck has a "curb weight" of like 3500lbs but you think it weighs 3500lbs with no driver and no stereo equiptment? doubt it.

Oh shaddap!

J u s t s a y i t . . .

"I don't like Evo's..."

NO fucking "I don't like Evos because I sat in one, and my buddy farted, and lost to a Pinto."

QUIT qualifying the shit.

AND trying to pretend like you're being smart, while you're at it, with your "in my head" math figures.

The part about you not liking Evos, or liking BMWs over it, is understandable - it's the 2nd part, with magazine-racing, and the qualifying bullshit, that gets annoying.

THAT was the point of my last post, which no matter what fucking vocation you are "planning", or are already taking, is obviously WELL beyond you.

JEESH.
