Re: Highway run with a V6 'Stang

Yah easiest way to tell is by sound. Also, even if the V6 has dual exhausts, he still has the stock V6 bumper. no GT bumper where theres indentations for the pipes. Well, its easy enough for me to tell, usually one glance is enough.

I usually tell by the hood scoop, I've only seen one V6 with a GT hood, its a bit harder to replace than the badges on the side of the car (and i'm not entirely sure the V6 I saw with a hood scoop wasn't a V8 lying low and killing other V6s (sounds like something I'd be interested in doing if I could only afford a V8)

6-17-2005 = over 2 months ago. But yes, the hood scoop is a good way to tell.

Re: Highway run with a V6 'Stang

one way to tell is race them lol the V6 stangs are slow as hell, i have beat a few GTs also, but deffinantly look at the back bumper if it just says Mustang then its a V6 if it says MustangGT then its a V8. i dont think most people who own a V6 Mustang would worry about putting a bumper on their car (at least if it were me) i would be putting that money into performance parts

not entirely true... depends on the year, many of them just say mustang for both the gt and v6, the way to tell is simple... if it has a gt badge then its a gt... if not then its a v6, very simple. theres badges on the front fenders and rear. but yes, this thread is quite old.

Re: Highway run with a V6 'Stang

Didn't the 99 cobra say mustang on its bumper? I think another year did too.

Re: Highway run with a V6 'Stang

i love tearing apart v6 mustangs, cause they always think that they will just stomp a cavalier. Its pretty funny, ive never beat a Mustang GT, every race has been dead even, i havent raced one in a while, i think with my current mods i can take them. I raced an 05 Mustang GT a while ago, when from a roll at like 40MPH, i was actually pulling very slightly on it untill about 80 MPH, man those things have wicked top end, and i have shitty top end.

Re: Highway run with a V6 'Stang

I had a chick in a V6 try to run me once. 'Twas funny.

I didn't take it over 3500 and was still pulling her.
