Question tires for an older pickup

I have an '81 ford ranger f150... and I wanna know about what kind of tires would look good on it.... I was thinkin about liftin it up a few inches, and putting some wide tires on it, so it'll throw mud better, but I'm really not sure how they will look... any more suggestions?!?!
