Re: Need Help!! Car won't start

... Not true Greenblurr93. I can take mine OFF completely, and the car cranks I'll take video if you'd like.

Hondaguy26, a compression test is quite simple.

-Buy a compression test tool (around $20-$25).
-Remove your fuel injection fuse (Not hard to find, just take a look).
-Remove the spark plug for the cylinder that you want to test.
-Insert the tool fitting into the spark plug fitting.
-Have someone crank the motor over three times so you can get a good reading.
-Write down the compression for each cylinder as you test it.

I'm not entirely sure what your compression should be on that motor, perhaps 210 all the way across would be PERFECT. But check your manual to know exactly.

Hope that helps,

-Wes

Re: Need Help!! Car won't start

It just primes the Fuel Pump... Which is why if you take the Relay out and turn the car to 'Power', you don't hear the Fuel Pump priming.

Hondaguy26, turn your key over to 'power' and tell us if you hear the Fuel Pump priming... It's sounds like a groaning coming from under your seats (No, it's not the kidnapped Korean Dictator that's in your trunk).

Do that, and the compression test, and tell us where you are after that.

Re: Need Help!! Car won't start

Check to see if you're getting fuel to the engine (I just crack the fuel line on the filter and tap the key). If that checks out then check for spark (Pull a plug, connect the wire and set it on a ground point, crank the engine and watch for spark). If you have fuel and no spark, check the coil. Pull the distributor cap, pull the 2 wires on the coil, connect them to a low watt bulb (int dome light) and crank engine if it flashes then the ignitor is good and your coil is bad. Hope this helps.

Re: Need Help!! Car won't start

God I'm glad I've never had problems with my Honda...

Take dfarres advice, those are pretty solid tests.

Re: Need Help!! Car won't start

it could be the coil, or it could be the ignitor..

I had the same problem with my car.. it wouldn't crank at all.. after i replaced the wire connecting the battery to the starter, the engine could turn over.. but anywho.. i think its your ignition coil.. i put a buddys distributor on my car and it started right up.. so i bought a ignition coil for like $87 from napa.. put that one in the distributor and it started up.. good luck..
