[quote=_93civchatch_][quote=jcrx]If you get anything less than a EX/Si don't waste a fucking penny on the motor. I know a guy, spend nearly two grand bolting the best shit he could to his DX, guess what? Even with n2o he couldn't keep up with a B16A swap.

Re: Some Guidance please on 92-95 Civic
I think the very first thing Im going to do is get coilovers and lower my car.
How much does installation usually cost for them? Meaning if I didnt have a hook up and just went to a mechanic shop and asked? Also would it be worth it putting a vtec head on a D16Z6? or is it better to save up for a b16 vtec? Last edited by Rightguard; 07-12-2005 at 02:39 AM. |

Re: Some Guidance please on 92-95 Civic
D16Z6 is vtec. I charge people about $50 to put on suspension, if it's a friend a case. At a shop, figure about 50-70 an hour, they probably tell you it's a four hour job.

Re: Some Guidance please on 92-95 Civic
Id have you do it if you lived in Chicago area :-p
Whats a D16Z6 vtec run on a 1/4 mile? Im guessing 16's. Im only 16 so I dont have the best financing to get a engine swap, so Ill probably wait a year, probably more for that. So I was just going to get small performance parts. Now that leads me to my question. Say if I get headers/intake/exhaust and maybe some other stuff, would I be able to use the same equipment on a b16a1/2 swap? Are there some things that would fit on both motors and some things that wont fit on both? |

intake can be somewhat reused and exhaust yea that doesn't effect motor *think of logic* header no and header on a D why if your spending a dime on a D boost it. |

Re: Some Guidance please on 92-95 Civic
Your last line is kind of confusing me. What I think your saying is headers from a D cant be put on a B and that if Im spending any money on a D just boost it?

Re: Some Guidance please on 92-95 Civic
The guy I sold my old VX to, swapped a D16Z6 in it intake, stock header, some lightened flywheel and a VAFC, and he ran consistant low to mid 16's.

Re: Some Guidance please on 92-95 Civic
I think Im just gonna bolt on some stuff to my D16Z6 for a like a year and a 1/2 so i can get some real good money for a nice swap. Then just sell the stuff I cant swap onto the new one. And if I get serious enough I'll get the swap. But I dont want to get the swap then be like, "eh I dont really need it"
Anybody have a guess on what a D16Z6 would run with aftermarket intake/headers/exhaust/turbo? Whats the differnce between b16a2 and B16a Sir-2? I thought they were the same just the differnce in how they were spelled out. But a guide on Honda Swap said that a B16a2 is harder to put in then a b16a Sir-2, so then I guessed they werent the same? Has anybody bought a turbo online? Im sure somebody has, my friend like freaks out about buying a turbo online, its only a turbo though..not sure why? |
