Painting vinyl. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen in my opinion. what would happen the second after you touch the vinyl is that the paint would start to crack like a sob!!. don't listen to this moron. If you're heart is set on painting the vinyl atleast add a flex-promotor(i.e OMNI flex-add) but still it'll prolly come out shitty. My $.02 -Peace

Get bondo off your brain! Yes do that but sand with 200 and 400 to smooth it.
C'mon TSC you know better than that! You'll have to at least sand to 600 grit to work out the scratches.

Re: Whats the best way to paint the interior panels?

Cant You just mask off the dash, and just redo the whole thing just as iff it was fiberglass. Obviosuly you would get the shape of the dash like this, then just keep adding layers of fiberglass for support. It might take longer, but might as well do it right and nice if ur gonna take the time ot do it at all.

A fast easy way to get around all the sanding and fuzz that seems to come with sanding vinyls and plastics is clean the dash very good with a bug or tar remover then get whats called an adhesion promoter,,this can be bought in a spray can from auto zone then two good coats of it and you are good to go with any top coat .
