170hp at the crank is about what I would expect for a basic bolt on install. With the cam and head package, and the right tuning, then maybe 180-190. But thats still about 130whp in basic forum, and 140ish whp with the add ons.

170whp is 10psi with rods and pistons. Or about 220-230crank hp.
hmm, must've got my numbers mixed up I think Ive overloaded my brain with all the turbo D16 research!

We built a kit for my buddy's car running 10lbs...stock d16z motor with stock fuel delivery and it did pretty good. Never got it dynoed, but it outran a cobra....had a t3/t4 .50 trim compressor with a JG manifold....spearco IC, HKS wastegate, and custom made piping and dp....a couple weeks after, we turned up the boost to 20lbs for fun and blew it. Damn that thing was fast for a stock D16z.....GOt a b20b now...turbo setup was sold in pieces

oh, forgot to say what I was gonna say....

did the guys that worked the dyno show you your fuel curve? Is it a pretty smooth and straight curve or is it jumping up and down?

ummmmm

I dont no the turbo makes nice boost all the wayz u can really feel some mean power in the car. u barely need to press the pedal and ur flyin stead 80 90 or what ever, it will instantly gain speed. i have actually had a b16 with boltons and my d16 feels much more strong. i was in fact talking about 157 hp at the wheels which would be bout 180 or sometin at the flywheel

Thats what i was going to say cause i know of an EX motor runing at 8 PSI of boost with no upgrade in the internals whatsoever, just a better fuel sysrem and its pushing around 190ponies to the wheels.....

hmm, Im starting to think tuning is extremely important when turbocharging a D16, maybe moreso than with a B16? I thought there was something of a discrepancy in numbers, especially when you look at all the other things turbocivic4 has already on the car. To me, it seems like you could take the turbo out of the equation and with his bolt ons alone be making some significant power. Thats why my first reaction was that something doesnt add up.

tuning is the key when it comes to any type of Induction on a motor....even Na applications apply to this
