It's a big thing in Japan, to take a Toyota Ceslior (sp) (LS400) or Nissan Cima (Q45) and put Rims and Widebody on it, it's called "VIP". Though, the Lexus has a terrible interior, bring back the Cream leather....

Somewhat like that I am guessing? I'll bet the Toyota Aristos are popular too.

Frameless car doors rock, especially on sedans.

The frameless doors feel so cool when you open them and close them with the window down.

Yeah, but IMO they are a PITA.
1) It takes 2 seconds to break into them, which isn't the most reassuring feeling.

2) If you are cleaning the windows (I detail cars) the rubber always ends up leaving streaks again when you close them, and it just is a PITA to keep the tops streak-free.

3) Down the road I would assume them to leak water in easier as the weather-stripping ages.

Just practically, I'm not a fan.

I've had hardtops (what you call "frameless doors" on cars from teh '50s to the present. IF you take care of your car, they'll last like anything else does. People break into framed door cars as often as frameless, so it's not a concern (hell, I have convertibles, much less protection than framed doors, and I don't have a problem with them being that way.

I've got, and will be giving to my stepson as a first car, a 1963 Mercury hardtop with "frameless" doors, and it's holding up just fine...
