I had another reply posted before this one, but I'm well aware of how annoying a multi-poster can be, so I deleted it in an attempt to be less irritating, before posting a modified/updated post.

I have now come to understand that the ECHU and the ECU are two different things. People say, "The ECU is just beside the master cylinder!!11one", and yet... the only thing I see beside my master cylinder is my windshield wiper motor, and my wiper fluid.

Would anyone care to point out to me where exactly the ECU is in this photo of my engine bay?

Where the heck do I FIND a new ECU for purchase, anyway? I'm iffy about junkyard parts when it comes to electronics.

Re: Antilock Brake light will not go off.

How about you take a pic of the WHOLE engine bay so we can help you.

Re: Antilock Brake light will not go off.

That's pretty much it, the only stuff on the left that is out of the picture is the air-conditioning and battery. Unless you'd like one more from above?

Air conditioning components, so far as I can tell:

Pic of my entire engine bay; rather large: http://home.comcast.net/~poltava/everything.jpg

The ECM is under the glove box.

Re: Antilock Brake light will not go off.

I don't want the ECM. That is the "Engine Computer". I want the ECU--the "Anti-Lock Brake Computer". ^_^*

Re: Antilock Brake light will not go off.

I'm pretty sure they are all in the same module.

Re: Antilock Brake light will not go off.

Now seeing that you have 4 wheel ABS the codes are different than for rwal brakes. There are no 12 &13, don't understand what you are seeing there. The 31 is a bad speed sensor, But it doesn't say which one, and there 4 of them. 65 is a motor relay open or shorted. But now this is what the book says,
code 65 may be by,,,poor power or ground at 2 way connector,,brakes applied with aldl grounded,,attempt to clear codes when none are set,,brakes applied during an erratic speed signal,,erratic aldl ground. Fix the 31 first. Then retry the test drive.

Re: Antilock Brake light will not go off.

i once talked to a guy who had abs on his car. he said that he slamed on the brakes for some reason. it's a long story but any way afterwards his abs light was on. he said that he went to a open road and got up to 65 and slamed the brakes on. he said it slid and then the ABS kicked in and started working. light then was off as well. he said sometimes they will get a burp in the system and after doing that it resets them. don't know if it works but he claims it does. do at your own risk. why don't you go have the codes cleared and not just pull the fuse.

Ok, you really don't have one on your motor. Your ABS is manually controlled. (like the 94 and below) If you had the ECM under the hood you would have the abs computer (which is integrated into the ABS module itself). Your abs setup is similar to the 96/97 k1500 setup.
