weird... that is my sweet spot too, 94-95 octane is what I always race with. I can't up the boost anymore though, damn maxxed out roots blower. My next car will be a turbo for sure.

Hi,

are you running a KA24 with turbo setup?

how many miles had the engine when you bought the car, or did you rebuild it?

Your mph indicates 11s ... the 60 is what you need to nail.

What size tires are you running?
What tire pressure?
Are you shifting at WOT?

245/50/16, stock size is 205/16/15. that's the biggest i can fit with these fenders and rims (only 16x7).

20psi in rears

i dont shift with accelerator down, im a little gentle on my car but do drive it hard. shifting was definitely fast.

i only run sunoco 94. its gentle on the o2's and plugs.

i just slapped a bigger turbo on, need some slicks to go for some 10's. now i should be putting out 400whp at 18psi, compared to 340whp... with just about the same spoolup.

Re: much better 12.0 @ 118mph street tires gt2871r .64

If you run a drag radial, you can wider than 245 on a 7" rim. I ran 255s on a 16X7 for years.
Your tire pressure seems about right for a street tire.

Your mph is not fast enough for 10s even with slicks.

What's your car weigh with you in it?

that should answer that i've got roughly 60 more whp, so i should trap at or around 125mph still with the stock head gasket. the power difference is very noticeable in the car, the only thing im concerned about now is traction. i don't want to run slicks because things start breaking in our cars and i want this to be kinda reliable.

car should weigh a little under 2600 lbs with me in it (180 lbs). i took out a little more than 300 lbs from how the car comes stock from the factory (and with track setup), but still with full interior.

yea i could run 255's... but i have tight clearance in there right now with the rear fenders with the 245's. i might have to raise up the rear slightly to run them. the way things are going i might ditch the tires i've got on the rear and daily dr's. my car's becoming more of a daily/weekend track car than a daily drifter.

Wow ... your car was only 2700 lbs from the factory? Luck you
Mine was nearly 3000, I am happy to have it down to 2645 (2820 with me in it).

Good luck in your 10 second quest.

an 11.9999 is still a 11 sec run

yea only 2700 from factory... we are quite lucky. my friend has his in the 2200-arena.

i think ill go to track today to see what it'll trap, still don't think ill get into 11's because i have more power now and even LESS traction, but hey, its worth a shot. it already rained but it might hold out the rest of the day without doing so. we'll see...
