Yeah, I knew what he meant. I care about blinding ppl with the HID too. But i have check many times (looking straight at them from far, close) and they are just the same as the OEM HID-equiped car. I just wonder why he said the other place is more promising

Dude, my bad, i didn't mean to offend you. The statement i was making was a generalization. The thing is, if the bulb position happens to be in the right spot in the headlight, there shouldn't be a problem with blinding people. The reason i made the general statement was because I've seen a similar kit on a civic (not the bi-xenon), it was totally blinding me. Perhaps he had to adjust his headlights lights.
The reason why the other kit seems promising is just a personal opinion. I derived this conclusion based on things that i have read. I must have visited like 15 different sites on HID stuff. The fact that this company took the time to analyze the beam pattern and make specific adjustments to HID kit in order to have a correct beam pattern made me believe this kit to be well made. Actually, I would like to see this kit. That's kind of why I haven't bought them. "The way I see it, if the car don't come with it, don't get it" by this, i was referring to the HID's. My main concern is the safety of others on the road. Intake, exhaust, etc. wouldn't really cause problems to other drivers. (maybe noise, but nothing that could kill them) You know? As for the super white bulbs, those are specifically designed and approved for various headlight designs. Hold up any H4 bulb next to each other, you'll see that the fillaments, coils, etc. are all in the same place. The beam created should end up the same as OEM regardless of bulb color, however the amount of illumination (lumens) may vary. After posting my first post, I ran across the site you had pictures of. It doesn't seem to glare. I was thinking it was due to the little piece uder the bulb that controls the hi beam. It may block some of the light to force a certain beam pattern, just like the one I referred to. I didn't mean to offend anyone, just wanted to spread some knowledge. Peaceout. |

Thanks for checking out the page...HID can be very blinding, as well as halogen. I tried to adjust the headlight up and it shot everywhere on the freeway (i mean like mile away) but it was extremely blinding, that was why i adjusted to now (a good balance between bright on the road and on the eyes of incoming drivers). I think anyone who doesnt want to get blind by other ppl shouldnt be point his headlight up in the sky. Try shooting the headlight on halogen up, it will also look like highbeam, just HID is brighter so it will even be more blinding So I think a properly adjusted HID is good for street use too I also believe the kit you showed on that page is very well made, what brand is that kit The Hella HID has a cover that is supposed to offer a highbeam feature, when hight beam is not used, the cover shields the bottom half, only when the highbeam is used , the cover will open. So this doesnt blind ppl I appreciate you clear things up thanks

I'm also concerned about blinding oncoming drivers, so I was going to get some tinted headlight covers. It should still be brighter than stock, but it shouldn't blind anyone. (Not to mention that it would look good and also protect the healights from getting chips and cracks.)
My .02 cents

I think the tinted cover kind of defeats the purpose of HID. If you adjust the headlight right, it shouldnt blind other drivers while provides more visibility for you
But it does help protecting the headlights from rocks and stuff
