I answered a question several posts below the original one. I couldn't have cared less if they opened a Bible Themepark. I just won't go.

Actually, science is just off on its own. What they discover just happens to contradict what the Bible proclaims.

DGB454, what denomination are you?

What does "INRI" mean, in depictions of Jesus on the Cross?

What does the fish symbol mean?

Ask me any Bible questions you want, just don't ask me to quote specific verse, as I have forgotten all of that, and that was my most hated part of the study.

2. Greek word for fish is ichthus. Iesous (Jesus) CHristos (Christ) THeou (of God) Uiou (the Son) Soter (the Savior).

No thanks. I wasn't questioning your knowlege in that first reply so I don't feel the need to test you on something you have no faith in nor believe.

And no...I won't call you a moron. I like to believe I am above name calling.

And yet you underhandedly call me a liar. At least I can say what I want to call you, directly to you.

If you were attempting to say something else, besides what I took from it, then say it.

Chill guys. This is a thread about a museum, not to attack the beliefs or question the knowledge of other members. I dont want to close it this soon.

I wasn't calling you a liar. You called what I call the truth a lie. Then get upset when I say what you call truth a lie. It was my way of giving you back what you dished out. I was trying to make a point. There was nothing underhanded about it and appologize if you were under that impression. I will try and make my points a little easier to understand next time.

The whole point is ..... You believe what you believe to be the truth (This isn't limited to religion) while others believe what they believe to be the truth. It's uncalled for to attack that persons beliefs by calling them lies.

That's about as simple as I can make it.

Re: Creation Museum Sparks Evolution Debate

The thing about religion is that many times it does ignore facts. Perfect example is the 6000 year thing. The man starting the museum states the earth is only 6000 years old, when carbon dating (and other methods) show that the earth is older than that.

Faith is a good thing, but it should be an informed faith.

I'm sure the man means well with the museum, but he's a little misguided. (and a hell of a promoter)

Not to throw my 2 cents into this debate/thread since most would say who gives a fuck, but to me religion is devoid of time. Whos to say that from the scriptures that start talking of genesis that the world was created 2 billion years ago, there is no mention of a timeframe that I know of in the bible or any religous artifact. Where some people get the idea that its only 6000 years old is new to me. Just because the bible does not state a time frame does not make it illogical. Now on the other hand, I have said and will continue to say that the bible is just a pack of stories handed down through the ages and changed through each and every inscription. Some added stories while some omitted some for their benefit until what we get today as the written Bible.

I agree with carrrnuttt that science is the real reason why I still believe there is a supreme being that created all of this, be it a God, be it an alien speicies or something else unexplained. But to be an intelligent species such as we are to soley go believing only what the Bible tells us and not accept science is a insult to our intelligence in the first place.

Now I am sure, some here would dispute my opinions and thats okay, to do so otherwise would undermine our very nature as the smartest creatures on this planet.

Re: Creation Museum Sparks Evolution Debate

I have no problem with science saying the world is billions of years old and I have no problem with some religions saying it is 6000 years old. The problem comes when some are intollerent of the others beliefs. That's when I have a problem.
