Re: Creation Museum Sparks Evolution Debate

"And so, I believe, is the age of the Earth," Storrs said. "It's very clear the Earth is much older than 6,000 years."

who do you know? Humanity has been wrong before. Just my 2cent on that.

"People will get saved here," Ham said of the museum. "It's going to fire people up. If nothing else, it's going to get them to question their own position of what they believe."

true

"It's a foundational battle," said Ham, a native of Australia who still speaks with an accent. "You've got to get people believing the right history - and believing that you can trust the Bible."

also true.

I say the bible is the only thing science hasn't and won't figure out.

If I had any more faith to lose in humanity it would be gone now.

I guess because of all the bombings it would create. You know, like the abortion clinics.

Because every other science-based museum, especially natural-history ones, already support the fact that the earth is a LOT older than 6,000 years, and have items such as DINOSAURS, and other fossils that the Bible can't explain, especially if you take what the Book of Lies says literally.

The Bible isn't meant to be a book of natural history so why would you expect to find any facts about it here. That would be like me going into a natural history book and looking for spiritualism.

Uncalled for.

Re: Creation Museum Sparks Evolution Debate

DGB the problem with a museum opening that says something different than what we believe (the 6000 year thing) is that it is proved false. I view it the same as going into a 3rd grade classroom and telling the kids that the internet works by magical elfs who sprinkle magic powder in the air. We KNOW that is not how it works so telling someone that is just wrong.

Personally I have no problem with the spiritual belief of creationism, what you believe is your thing. But the 6000 year thing is absurd.

Who's bitching? I read the whole article and didn't see anything like that. It's a free country. Make any museum you want.

Re: Creation Museum Sparks Evolution Debate

I still say the 6000 year thing is strecthing it but like i said earlier, Humanity was been way wrong before. And the are all ready to many damn debates on this in school. You know about the new text books that are made that state evolution and the public goes nuts. Which resorts to all the new books being pulled.....

I agree with your school analogy but this is a lot different than what gets taught in school. A museum can be a private institution in which case what ever they want to say is ok.

And yet - the book is used to *try* and trump cold, hard science, all the time. Notice the theory that world is only 6,000 years old.

I also grew up in catholic schools, studying theology, all the way to the point where I lived in a Jesuit Pre-Novice house, before I got out of high-school. All the while, I had a good friend who was Muslim.

I believe in God, but not in human religion, which I now firmly believe is the longest-running con in the history of the universe.

You know what makes me believe in a God? Science. I cannot believe that such precision, beauty, and common-sense, doesn't have a mastermind behind it.

You know what makes me laugh at human religion? Its LACK of common-sense...it doesn't correlate.

Is that what's happening? Or is science used all the time to try and trump the Bible?
