Re: how to drift with no lsd?

WTF???!!!

hell YEAh u can Drift with out LSD!

left turns for sure, right turns.... u need speed and faint. its hella hard to do a right drift with open diff but its doabe... rain helps too.

don't get me wrong ..u need an LSD to drift right, open diff is hard and sloppy, but it can be done!!

yeah its possible to "drift" without LSD, like people have said, the drift bible is a good resource, i think if ur not getting lsd the best thing u can do is like some people have said is to go fast, then when u step on the brakes this will create a larger weight transitition, sending most of the weight to the front of the car, the s14 wont need as much weight transfered as the s13, but im not sure because we have the KA's lol...Thats a lot more weight in the front..but it will still work

Re: how to drift with no lsd?

IMO i think if you learn to drift w/o lsd, you can do a lot better with it. And learning to drift requires crash courses, its almost imposible to drift w/o crashing in the city.

Re: how to drift with no lsd?

driftking where do you drift cause if you only drift in that parking lot then i can see why no wrecks but if you do drifting anyplace that gets kinda tight most people would hit a curb or 2 sometime or a mail box. i can close to a brick mailbox once i was sidewayz and my wheels got traction again and i jumped forward right at the mailbox it sucked but i was quick w/ the brakes and caught it. ive never had anything bad happen but have gone sideways into some ditches

Re: how to drift with no lsd?

a mail box?? You drift in the neighbor hoods??

and orestes, i stated why in a previous post. Im mean sure you can do it, but i wouldnt get hard core into it unless i had one. Guess thats my view point. I mean your going to need one anyways, so might as well learn with one too. Sure doing it with out one will still help you develope skills and get the feel of sliding and what your car will do in given situations. Thats my idea, i just wouldnt really get into it unless i had one. Sure i go out to the occasional parking lot and do some figure eights around light poles and shit, but if i had an lsd i might do it more often. I do it like once every 2-3 months just to go screw around in my car.

Thats good for you BRO!
Defying the odds is a good feeling. Try to keep it that way. But you cant do it safe all te time. Anyway, thats why i said "almost impossible" to drift w/o crashing. I also drift in the neighborhoods and in the mountains ocasionally late at night, or when i definitely know that theres no risks of injuries to other things.

at least Drifting an Open Diff will keep you from using power as a crutch like some of the hackasses that think 15 degrees over coming out of a corner is drifting.

Basically a LSD will...

make your car feel like it has more power
Add to Effective rear traction (lateral and Accelerative)
Tend Towards Understeer (yes understeer)
Make Slides more predictable and Easy to control
