I agree. Everyone here has been much cooler. I really
appreciate all of the replies and crits.

Bonzelite it is:
http://www.sketchbooksessions.com/th...oard/index.php
Seems alot of comic artists, illustrators and cartoonists hang there.
And get most of the replies. There is some awesome art there.
Mostly figures. I don't know if its the way I work or the
subject of my work but they dont care much. I guess i could look
at it as a reason to improve my work but
it is mainly just discouraging

And thanks again alex for taking a look at my stuff!

Only small updates on this one. Not very drastic. My source photo had
few hilights on the hood so I made some up.

Re: f430 (Troubles with red)

grant, i went to that site and glossed it over. mmmm. on first impression, the great quality of stuff notwithstanding, they more than likely cannot relate to what we do here. that site seems to cater to more the organic, story-telling, style, art crowd.

to them, as i hypothesize, what we do here is probably too "narrow" or "juvenile" for them, as they may be somewhat bordering on being artistic eltist snobs. they may see drawing cars as "only" a childish phase that, like puberty, must be "grown out of." and that is a stupid way of seeing things.

but i don't know. i really think they cannot relate to this specific niche-centric car culture stuff. as for me, i can play both sides of the fence, and offer them just as much attention and criticism of their art, too. i don't only draw cars, eventhough they are the most fun things to draw that i can think of, besides nude women.

i find that site "soft" and pastelly, and perfumey. and i think that kind of general personality, skewed a bit feminine, cannot handle the hard, edgey, engineering, brass balls kind of well-hung horsepower mentality here.

That is great stuff! You couldn't be more right! I think
you nailed those guys. If you didn't rip off bruce timm or spumco or some
other more feminine 60's cerial box illustration they don't like it.
I love your take of that place. I like your take of this place too!
It fits!

Re: f430 (Troubles with red)

maybe kustmace can hold a new contest: "most tasteless drawing against pretentious fairy art contest." "must be politically incorrect and as offensive to fine-artists as possible."
