polishing out acrylics?
what can i use to polsh out acyrlics? (namley tamiya?) the paint finish is pretty smooth, im just scared to polish it coz ive heard acrylics r very soft, n i dun wanna rub thru the paint!

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=401357 Tamiya acrylics are soft, yes, but can definately be polished out. The softness isn't really a disadvantage (as it makes them easier to polish after sanding)- it's just something you have to be careful with.

Your worst enemy is fingerprints with acrylics.

yep... they dry quite quickly but they still take quite a while to fully cure.
some red paint i had on a fire extinguisher took about two weeks..... |

Try polishing it out now. I usually only wait a day or so before polishing acrylics. Yes, it may be a bit soft, but it can certainly be done. If it is soft, the paint may take fingerprints if you press hard- so be careful and hold the body from the inside.
