What most people forget is that the Skyline was always a family sport sedan. The GTR just borrowed the Skyline name.

it was 2 door and in no way looked like a "family sedan" unlike the V35 which looks like it would be in the same class as a....VW Passat or something?

Right but your thinking just of the GTR again. Essencially the "Skyline GTR" is it's own car and borrowed the Skyline name. It irks me when North Americans say "But we aren't getting the fabled Skyline" When in fact we are getting the Skyline, we are not getting the GTR but Nissan never said that the G35/Skyline was going to be the GTR. The Skyline is the Skyline and the Skyline GTR is something different!

while i know that there is a big difference between the skyline GTR and the GTS and lesser models, but even the sedan ones are not just your typical family sedan. The GTS still came with the RB single turbo motor, produced 230hp+, rwd and still kicked lots of ass....definietly NOT a camry type family sedan!
