The challenger is a Montero Sport in Japan. The Colt is a Mitsubishi name that they lent to Chrysler in the early 70's when Mitsubishi started importing cars under the Chrysler badge.

Between 1977 and 1983, Chrysler imported several cars from Mitsubishi. The Plymouth Arrow may have been the first. The Dodge Challenger and Plymouth Sapporo were twins -- the same car, just different badging and different trim.
See pictures of my 1981 Plymouth Sapporo at http://home.earthlink.net/~rbrown23/indyswebsites/ As a reminder, this car was manufactured by Mitsubishi. I believe that it was named the Scorpion in Australia and New Zealand. |

I've never seen a Challenger, Cricket, or Arrow in person before. I'd just kill to get any of those cars to the All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show. More details at:

Yep he is talking about the Dodge Challenger, I had a 1983 was a pretty sweet car, had the Mitsu 2.6 four banger in it. Pretty quick little car. They stopped making the Challenger when the Starion/Conquest came out. Matter of fact the interiors of the Challenger and Conquest were basically the same.

Re: What is the Challenger?
Sorry for dredging this one up from the past , but.....
Quote:
It's quite a good car, and a good 4WD too. It's got the same chassis as the Pajero (year for year), but with a different body on top (being a seperate ladder chassis/body arrangement). I've not yet been stuck in mine, and I've been through some bloody rough country. Aus Link: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/...jsp?groupId=15 US Link: http://www.mitsubishicars.com/monterosport/index.html There is also of course the Dodge Challenger, but the two are very different vehicles. Re: What is the Challenger?
The Challenger as said is an Australian 4x4, with the 6g72 DOHC which with quad cam is the same in the 3000GT/Stealth.
